Mini Meat Loaves
It’s
difficult to find an argument against meatloaf & potatoes. As versatile a
dish as it is yummy. This English staple can be eaten piping hot from the oven
or as a picnic lunch or even a cold mid-night snack & it ends up being no
less fulfilling in every way. As a child, I remember we made this quite often
at home, mom introducing me at first to it as a meal with greens (‘coz that was
the only way to get me to eat some veggies), & then later on as a snack
with different dressings. For children, their standard choice of dressing is
ketchup…although it tastes good enough with other sauces also.
Ingredients:
- 500 gm sausages
- 500 gm minced beef
- 80 gm quick cook oats
- 70 gm steak sauce
- 2 tsp Worcester sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
Method
Combine
all ingredients & mix well. Divide into 12 balls & shape into mini loaves.
Cook in oven for 30 min at 180 degree C. or till done. Best to cool them &
keep in fridge & slice & eat in sandwiches.
Mommy’s Tip
You can
play around with all kinds of dressings for sandwiches…honey-mustard or
barbeque sauce are hot favorites, this gives it a more smoky flavor. If you ain’t
feeling too fancy you can also use plain ol’ fashioned ketchup with cheese…feel
free to explore & let us know.
